Driver's Ed Provided by Nathan's Driving School (Spring)
Teacher: Michelle Shaw Date/Time: Monday - 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM Room: 259/261 Department: Other Grade Level: High School (9th-12th) Driver's Education prepares you for the driver's seat! On January 1, 2002, the requirements changed for anyone under age 17 to obtain an initial Georgia driver's license. Now, under O.C.G.A. 40-5-22, option (A), ALL under age 17 applicants must complete a driver education program consisting of a minimum of 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The driver's education program meets the requirements under the state code section. Nathan's Driving School is and has been a member of the National Safety Council, the Driving School Association of the Americas, and licensed by the State of Georgia since 1988. Nathan has been in Drivers Education as a business for more than 29 years. The classroom training portion is held at Eastside and will be taught by an instructor from Nathan's. All in-car lessons are designed for each individual student. The student is required to have a learner's permit for the in-car lessons. Cost: $498.13 Includes 30 hour classroom instruction (10 three hour sessions) plus 1 make-up session - January 8 - March 12, 2018. Includes 6 hours of private driving lessons (3 two hour sessions) Includes ADAP Students also have the option of scheduling and taking the Road Test at one of the Nathan's locations since they are a licensed third party approved testing center. The fee for the road test is $89.00. Minimum 6 students. Maximum 15 students. Once you have enrolled in the class at Eastside, you can go to www.eastsideacademicdriverseducation.com to pay the driving school for the class.
