Audrey Gleason is a former Eastside
Academic Studies (then, LAC) student. Audrey graduated from the University of
North Georgia with a bachelor's degree in English Writing and
Publication and double-minor in Kinesiology and German language. While at UNG, she was a student-athlete involved with FCA and student-athlete
mentorship programs, serving as a mentor for incoming freshmen.
After graduation, she taught English at a high school in Bavaria, Germany (equivalent grades 5th through
12th) through the United States Fulbright program and Fulbright Germany. This experience confirmed Audrey’s
passion for teaching youth and breaking down barriers in learning and
communication.
With experience in coaching, athletics, experiential learning facilitation, tutoring and teaching, Audrey finds joy in finding the best approaches to help others achieve their learning goals. She has led multiple college-level writing courses and workshops, including
through the University of North Georgia Writing Center and Summer Honors, an intensive
leadership and academic camp for high schoolers. In addition to teaching, she works
part-time as a challenge course facilitator, and as an outdoor science
program lead for Forsyth County Parks and Recreation with elementary schools.
She believes productive
learning has endless potential connections across subjects and everyday
implications. When working with varied groups, she makes it a priority to
foster adaptive and open environments in which objectives are meaningful and
lastingly applicable for all.
